Welcome to the Briard Rescue Trust

The Briard Club of America Rescue Trust is a 501(c)(3) charitable trust formed to further the Briard Club of America's mission of protecting Briards in need of rescue.

The trust's goals include education of the public regarding the needs of Briards in rescue, education of persons who wish to help Briards in need, encouragement and support of responsible breeders of Briards, and establishment of a system that encourages effective communication among all individuals involved in rescue.

Most Briards in rescue end up there through no fault of their own. The vast majority of Briard breeders expend tremendous time and effort vetting potential homes for their puppies. However, issues such as divorce, declining health, and economic pressures sometimes cannot be anticipated. When they do occur, again, the vast majority of breeders are able to place their dogs into new homes. The BCA Rescue Trust exists for those Briards who "fall through the cracks."

To do this, we need your help. Through generous donations from people involved in Briards, we are able to support individual rescues and other organizations involved in rescuing our beloved breed. The BCA Rescue Trust does not rescue individual dogs. If you know of a Briard that has become homeless or is in need of a rescue operation, please contact the Briard Rescue and Haven.
